I don't plan on changing the stock cam. No need to seeing people have gone 10's with it.

Don't fear the acceleration of the lightweight clutch

Well I tried to lower my car today on the stock bolts, read as much as possible and seemed very easy to do. Except both my 2 front bolts were frozen solid, sprayed the **** out of them top and bottom with pb blaster, let them soak for a while and still couldn't budge them. So naturally one of the 10mm heads started to round on mine. So I ended up having to pull the dam leaf spring completely out of the car. 4 hrs later i'm welding a nut to the one bolt so I can get it out of the dam leaf spring. Just turn the bolts they said, it will be easy they said, LOL

I swapped out my brake pads and rotors for my Carbotech/Centric track setup. I also pulled the radiator out and cleaned the debris out of it for a little better cooling, as well as a flush, for my track day at Barber's Motorsports Park this coming weekend.

Tonight I will put fresh Amsoil Torque Drive fluid in the trans and fresh Amsoil 10W40 oil in it, and she should be ready to go

600 hp and tq in a c5 is no joke, enough to take out most of the cars you would run into on the street... you can probably start messing around with some bikes now, that's a lot of fun

Today, I took the dog out for his walk, and drove in the rain. Also bedded in new brake pads, what a difference in feel going from a race pad back to a ceramic.

I lowered on stock bolts. Looks and feels great! However, I kept reading about leaving 2 threads exposed in the rear. Why 2? Where did that come from? I think I left about 3...

I did two things today, lowered the car 1 inch on all 4 corners, and installed the light black out kit. 1 inch is about all I can go, or wanna go, it's low enough and I scraped getting up my driveway before the inch lower.

To low in the rear and the suspension will bottom out , it puts the shocks so close to the bump stop that they really don't work right also.

On 09/16/16 I completed Hot Rod Magazine's Drag Week with mine. 5 day average of 9.33 @ 149mph and over 1100+ street miles.

I installed a pair of DRM Bilsteins on the rear - what a difference. I'll install the fronts tomorrow.

I'm thinking of getting these. What differences did you find compared to stock shocks?

Do they just bolt right up? no mods or adjustments ? And when you say what a difference can you explain that in detail.

They bolt right up - in fact, the DRM's were exactly the same length (at least on the rears) as the OEM's. My Z' is an '03. As you're probably aware, in '04 GM switched to different valving and to a Sach's shock. The '03 was a bit scary on bumpy curves at speed. The DRM's feel much more secure - no discernible wheel hop on rough roads/curves. The rear-end feels much more planted....HTH

Thanks for the info, I think I am going to buy these myself, like the fact the car will ride/handle better, plus I am a drag racer mostly, so having the rear planted better is all I needed to hear. Do you mind if I ask where you purchased them?
