When the car was new, I used the Mobil1 oil filter. After several years, Mobil changed their filter to either 99 or 99.9% efficiency and the oil pressure dropped. Since then, for a very long time, I've been using K&N oil filters with no problems. I will not use the AC oil filters that are plastic inside.

This is the most comprehensive oil filter test I've seen that was not done by a manufacturer with marketing intentions:

I've never been a fan of the cheap Frams, but the high end one with synthetic media tested at the top and that's what I've been using since you can pick them up anywhere, even Walmart. Most are in the $10.00 range. The Amsoil unit tested at the top too, but they're more pricey and not so readily available.

I use Napa Gold or Wix (they are the same). It's my understanding they are pretty darn good. Reasonably priced too.

Edit: For reference, for the C5 the Napa Gold is part# 1042 and Wix is part# 51042.

I also use K&N on my C5 and every other vehicle I have. Mobil 1 filters are pretty good too.

Wix makes a pretty good filter for the price.

Love the Korn "Issues" avatar.
