The C5 is bone stock other than Z51 rotors, carbotech pads, and RBF 600 fluid. Even has the paper air filter.

The video above is on the 295-35-18 275-40-17 DW's that fit on the stock rims.
They are the WORST tire I've ever run on track. That is coming from a guy who has done the nurburgring in under 9 min with a firebird on snow tires.

It was like the car was floating on a waterbed, and the steering feel was HORRIFIC! I've driven tires with a soft sidewall before, but never on where you would turn in, and the steering wheel would bounce left and right.

I agree on the DW,s. Worst ever. Switched to Nitto NT05's. What a difference. You would have been way ahead if you had different tires. Stock GY F1's are better than the Continentals. No feeling of confidence with the DW,s. You had a great run with those crappy tires. Good driving

Cool vid. However, the guy in the Mustang looks like he's doing a Sunday drive compared to the Vette driver. He's not pushing it IMO.

Put the same driver in each and I'm betting the Mustang is faster.

As the driver of the Z06, I appreciate the compliment!
NCM is his home track, I have more laps of rd atl.
He was driving harder at ncm, but then again so was I.
In his defense he still had dealer plates on the car, and had owned it less than 2 weeks. I've been tracking the C5 Z06 for 3 years now.

That makes a huge difference. Cool vids, though - looking forward to the next one.
