ZO6 insurance, higher than a regular C4/C5?
I currently pay 90 dollars a month full coverage with USAA here in Hawaii for my C4. I am covered with a 500 deductible, and over 100000 insurance. WOuld a C5 ZO6 insurance be higher. I am just curious before I call USAA.
Or simply, what do you pay for your ZO6, please include state. Thanks, Steve

Insurance on my '97 was about $750 per year. It's a little over $1000 per year on the Z. This is with State Farm. So yes, it will go up.

Thats not too bad. I am over 35 and the car would be garaged, and when on deployments, I only need the comp and collision, so overall cost wouldnt be that bad. Thanks again, Steve

From my 1999 Hardtop to my 2003 Z06, insurance went up 125 bucks / 6 months.

VegasR - good trade! :yesnod:
My Z06 is about $180 more every six months than my '88 C4. But then, by insurance standards, the Z's value is about 3 to 4 times my old C4.
IMO, the fun factor in the Z is worth every penny of the extra insurance and registration fees. :smash:

While shopping between an M3 and Z06 I called USAA and was pleasantly surprised to find the Z much cheaper. In fact, they didn't have a different rate for the Z06 compared to an ordinary C5 at all. They did recognize the model, as I gave them a VIN, just didn't show any difference. That was six months ago, hope it hasn't changed. :flag

Some companies make a distinction for Z's, some don't. Shopping around is the best advice.
A more expensive car is naturally more expensive to insure.

Go figure, but my insurance went down $125 a year when I went from an '00 coupe to the Z06. Mercury is my carrier. Seems obvious from this thread that each carrier is very different, state probably makes a difference as well. :yesnod:

USAA here
when I got my quote it was actually cheaper to insure the Z06 than the coupe or convertible.
I was told it was a numbers game.
There are more coupes and verts on the road , therefore the number of accidents is higher.
I thought that was very interesting...

I am 32 in Ohio with Erie ins. and full coverage.
For my '03 Z it is Just under $1100/Year. That's $550/6mos or $275/quater or $92/Month. It went up $330 from $730/year on my '00 VW Passat V6.
My $0.02

I'm 43 in central Illinois and Erie insures my '03 Z for 870 per year. That is a multi car discount and good driving record. They told me that the Z and the convertible had the same rate, the coupe was a little cheaper.
