Default C6 Engines-Made in Mexico?

Hey guys, I was talking to a couple of Vette owners over the weekend and one had stated that some C5's & all C6 engines were made in Mexico. Is there any truth to this, or is it total
Thanks,
Richard

I read somewhere that the Tremec transmissions are made in Mexico. Can anyone confirm?

The LS1 is cast in Mexico, then shipped to Canada for machining and building. I read it in the book by Will Handzel.

Don't know about the current Gen IV engines, but it appears to be the same excpet for the LS7 which I thought I had heard were hand built in Michigan.

Now, now, be nice, or are you showing your true colours. It's people like you who give good Americans a bad name. Maybe you belong in a Honda.

Take apart anything 'made in America' that has a lot of parts, and start examining where all those pieces are manufactured. You'd be hard pressed to find any modern mechanical or electronic device with every part manufactured & assembled in the USA, and frankly imo it is pointless to stress about such things.
