Default Opinions or experience with Kumho tires

Looking over Tire Rack and came upon the Kumho tires, cheaper than most of the others but that normally means "not as good".
Anyone out there have experience with these and what are your opinions? I'm just trying to find a decent non runflat to replace my GY's.

i like mine so far. had them a couple of months. quieter and ride better than the supercars but theirs a bit of a handling trade-off with the better ride. they have a better mileage rating too. people either get these or the nitto invos it seems when it comes to getting non run-flats. i needed tires quick and at a good price at the time. i'll probably go to supercars, or similar run-flat, next time...i don't know.

I have the XS for autocross. It is ther highest performing non race street tire. Ride is better but they noise is up. In the dry and warmed up they really stick. But when cold or if it is wet I will take my stock runflats. I only have about 300 miles on them, as I said I use them only on autocross weekends. With a tread wear of 180 I don't think you will get many miles out of them.

I have the Kuhmo Ecsta tires and I like them. They are well worn now (rears almost down to wear bars), but still quiet. When I switched to these from OEM RF tires, I immediately noticed a softer ride from the additional flex in the sidewalls.

I ran Kumho tires on my C4 and am now running Kumho RF tires on the front of the C6. I've got about 7,000 miles on this set, great handling - wet and dry - and wearing well. With my experience in running them on the C4 (40,000 miles) it was a no-brainer to put them on the C6 when I needed tires.

I have Kumho Ecsta ASX tires on my Cadillac STS--like them much better than the OEM Michelin Pilots, and they are quite a bit cheaper too.

I had Kumho Ecsta ASX tires on my 1994 C4 Corvette and they lasted a long time, but they were a bit hard so tractions wasn't the best. Still very good for the money.

I now have Kumho Ecsta tires on the rear of my 2005 and I am pretty impressed with them. I am sure that there are stickier street tires, but for the money they hold pretty well and from a cost/value standpoint, I think they are excellent.

Road noise? I don't hear them over the wonderful tone coming out of my FlowMaster American Thunder mufflers.

I use the excsta stp or spt whatever it is. They are great. More traction than the RF's especially at the track. I dont really notice road noise cause the exhaust and the tunes are blairing normally.

Happy Memorial Day

Have their cheapie KR21's on the DD. First set were flawless, 60k and they were still 2/3 depth and wearing flawlessly.

My current set are garbage, spent $125 at 2 places in many trips and hours of wasted time trying to get them to balance. They can't determine if it's core/belt shift or what.

Will pass next time. Current tires came with an RMA recall card so they were expecting quality problems over in Chicom.

FWIW I use Kumho 710's on the track. Like most track tires they're fairly pricey but I've had good results using them.

No problems with Kumhos on my C5 or C6. It is a great mod. Vastly improved handling and ride.

I put my Kuhmos on 13 months/10,000 miles ago. Have enjoyed them from the very beginning. Still have lots of mileage left, and they look good. The price was outstanding, too, compared to originals. I'd buy again without any hesitations if I keep the car long enough.

I love mine. Great traction, first gear hooks at any speed when dry, plus mine were only $792 installed for all 4.

I put a set of Kumho run-flats on my '01 coupe before I sold it. They were quieter and gave a better ride than the 29K Goodyears. I also put a set of Kumho tires on my '02 Infiniti. I would not hesitate to buy the Kumho brand again.

Kumho makes several DIFFERENT tires for our car. Not specifying which one adds nothing to the discussion. Personally, I've found the Ecsta XS to be a great value in a summer tire, not to mention it's one of just a handful of summer tires available in C6 OEM sizes.

What about all-season tires? Does Kumho have an all season tire for
C-6?
