What to use when detailing undercarriage ?????
I was thinking about pulling the wheels off and giving the underside a good cleaning. What would be a good product to use on the aluminum frame pieces and other suspension parts to get them looking new again ? I was thinking a citrus based cleaner and power wash. Anyone have any secrets they would like to share?

Cleaning the undercarriage?? I'm impressed...you're an animal!
But seriously, I admire your thoroughness and ability to keep the underside clean. I clean the suspension components from time to time but living down a dirt road (and for what I do with my car) cleaning the undercarriage would be an exercise in futility.

I agree that cleaning the undercarriage is excessive unless entering a SERIOUS car show or coming back from the beach (or recently salted roads).
Definitely an extreme if it's part of normal cleaning.

I'm also not totally sure he plans on cleaning his actual undercarriage...he mentioned taking the wheels off which led me to believe he was more concerned with cleaning wheel wells, which is something I do for every wash (I don't take the wheels off to do it though...use bare bones and a long brush).

you will want/need an assortment of brushes and towels to get into many areas. I would use a safe cleaner, something like Optimum Powerclean, that is designed for multiple surfaces and metals. Once washed and rinsed and allowed to dry you can certainly use a product like Griots Undercarriage Spray or Stoners Trim Shine for extra bling-bling. Try to apply thin and sparingly. One of our brushes, the Daytona Wheel Brush, is often suggested for other areas like the suspension as its bendable. Best part, you can still use it on wheels to keep your barrels looking good too.

Rain water at 70 mph works great. Use the time you were going to spend detailing something nobody would ever see driving the dadgum car!! Enjoyment comes from driving a well designed machine not from **** retentive cleaning. If thats your bag them come do mine.
