Default Removing stock "elbow savers"

Does any know if the stock "elbow savers" on the door panels are removable? My car is a 2012 Centennial GS 3LT. I would like to remove the stock plasticy looking elbow savers and replace them with a sponsering aftermarket vendor's padded version to match the stock interiors alcantara and red stiching. But before I go ripping into the door panel, was curious if anyone knew if the stock ones are even removable, and if they are removable, how are they attached to the door panel. Thanks in advance.

They are removable. You have to take off the door panel to remove the clips that hold the pad to the door panel. You will have 6 holes left in the door panel. The after market pads should cover the holes though.

Hang on to those stock pads! They wholesale for about $200 EACH.

I would install a door insulation kit while the panel is off.
