At least my Vette is safe and dry. Stuck in the house today, water is 24" deep.

Hey Jeff
glad to see your house was high enough up and away from the H2O
I guess my street has pretty good drainage, I lowered my pool the other day and it was up to the top this am. Looks like LA,MS, AL is in for the worst of it now. Hope it doesn't get too strong for them.
We got lucky
This was my hood yesterday I went for a drive

Every once in awhile I think about moving to Florida, then one of these hurricanes shows up, and I think not. And this is a mild one, couldn't imagine a CAT 4 or 5.
I had a friend who moved to Vero Beach a few years back and got hit with 2 hurricanes in about a month, in his first summer there. He packed up and moved to west Texas.
Godspeed to all those impacted by the storm.

Be safe. We had Irene last year. Thank goodness for garages to protect the toys.
Be glad you're not in New Orleans!

Chances are the water will subside quickly and until it does that's why you should own a truck. Besides, you won't have to water the lawn for a while.

Same here. Looked at relocating to Orlando back in 2008.. and ended up sticking with NYC. I love Florida for the mild winters, laid back atmosphere and cheap cost of living. But between the tropical storms and intense summer heat, I dont think I could move there. And poor New Orleans never seems to catch a break!

I hope the best for you guys down there. Not really concerned about the cars, more concerned about people. Listening to the news this morning on the car radio, 10 people have already lost their life due to this storm.
