Carlisle Results: It's the C6 for me folks...
Went to Carlisle. My 4th visit but first ride out since I sold my '06 3LT in 2010. I sold my vette in an effort to buck the trend...and get out of debt! I'm almost there...when I do get out I am going reward my years of diligence by going back into a C...6.
First I had to see the C7 for myself - touch it, feel it, sit in it...and be bored by it.
I am going to stick with the C6 and I am happy! I can't believe it! I always want the latest and greatest but I can see myself driving C6 variants for life!
Ahh so I'm going to go out on a limb and say I was totally underwhelmed with the C7. It just does not stir me the way the C6 does. Even the upgraded interior was "meh". Better materials for sure, but I still was not moved, and frankly prefer the design of the C6 interior. Call me coo-coo.
I also don't know if anyone is talking about this yet here or not but it is smaller inside! I am 6'1" but height really was not the issue, it was the width. I am down 40lbs since I sold my C6 and this thing was snug - would be great for the track. But I don't track my cars and will take long trips. I had 75k miles on the last C6.
Anyway - that's my 2cents on the C7.
Here are some Carlisle pics to reward you for listening to my pontificating...
I think this Zr1 was going for $71k

Melting Slicks
So I went to look at there C7's aloe and like you have a C6. I really liked the body style, but the rear bottom bumper is sill not hitting it with me just yet.... one thing that really bothered me was the seats. For some reason the side bolsters bothered me and when closing the door I felt it was not as wide as my c6.... didn't have a lot of time in toe car so i'll wait until my local dealer finally gets one......I did love it in White tho........

The engineer who designed the interior did a presentation and Carlisle and said the interior was smaller on the C7 than the C6. He also said they were working on the seat frame to extend leg room in future versions. BTW I'm 6'1" 215lbs. Yeah I fit, but it felt like the car was hugging me...side bolsters could be part of that but regardless the interior is narrower.

Great pics. I sat in and looked at several C7s @ Road America.
I like them. Keep in mind-these are still test cars. Pre-production examples.

I look at every picture of the C7 I can find and I like the C7 rear .. and the rest of the car.
But that's just me and others feel differently and everyone will always have different opinions.
It's life and I don't feel one way or the other what should or shouldn't be
But I also constantly look at my C6 seeing I own one and Like it a Real lot.
So today, after detailing the car I was looking at the rear and thinking how much hoopla there is over the C7 rear and all the hoopla about how the C6 ROUND lights should be in the C7.
Well, I finally noticed today that the C6 Tail lights are Not Round.
They're Egg Shaped
Not quite as Egg Shaped like the C5 Egg Shaped tail lights and definitely not squarish like the C4 tail lights
Anyway, just sayin'
I think the last Corvette to have ROUND tail lights was 1982

Great idea. Wait 9 years for a C6 with a silly looking bulge in the hood. High fives all around at the Corvette team boardroom. A job well done. Light years ahead of the competition.
