Someone tried to run me off the road tonight
I was driving down the freeway minding my own business. Not going too fast, not changing lanes. This guy in a some small sedan in the lane to my left, just slightly in ahead of my bumper decides to cut HARD into my lane. Not some "asleep at the wheel" motion. A HARD cut in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and swerved and just barely avoided an accident.
The world class a-hole is really lucky I wasn't packin.
These kinds of stunts never happen in my SUV. It's like people hate sports cars or something. Could just be really bad Bay Area drivers.

Some lady spun out doing 60 today I was 2 car lengths behind her. She crossed from the center to the left lane then back the center lane and coming to a rest blocking the center and left lanes. I stopped fast enough the make sure she didnt hit me. I could still see the look of fright in her eyes as she was spinning out. She was pretty shook up so a trucker and I helped her and pushed her to the side of the road. Her car died evidently and she lost power steering and braking. I waited by the side of the road with her til her husband came to get her.

I'm glad you're OK but what....are you really going to shoot someone for cutting in front of you? Seems a bit extreme to me. I've been cut-off and had close calls in virtually every vehicle I own. Face it, there are a lot of idiots driving on the roads.

Jeeze...isn't there a remote possibility that the other driver didn't see you?....stuff happens and I don't think that people are out to get you just cause you have a Vette....

Actually, YOU are really lucky you weren't "packin". Sure you have a right to be upset, and to seek empathic support -- and you have an obligation to process your own feelings appropriately, rather than act them out. There are over 30,000 gun-related deaths in the US each year, and over 11,000 of those are homicides; I'll bet there's lots of folks who wish they weren't "packin" now.

We have all been there. And we all wish we could teach them a lesson.
OP was just venting, no big deal.
The other day I was driving on the access road heading home. There was a semi on the side of the road just before the on ramp. I needed to stay on the access road till the next intersection. Semi decides to go to the on ramp at the same time I was approaching the on ramp. He had both lanes of the access road blocked and my two choices were to hit him or swerve to the on ramp. On ramp here I come!! How he could not see me I do not know, if he even looked.

True enough, of course. And... in our area there have been more than one news report of altercations between two drivers, one was "packin" and the other is now dead. It only takes a moment.

"Packin'" carries a LOT of responsibility. I'm quite a jokester but there are some things I don't joke about, especially on a public forum.

This is why I support Conceal and Carry Laws. Background check and training go a long way to stop this. Plus here in TX you never know who is packing, so a wise person avoids trouble on the road.

it is possible you were in their blind spot and they couldn't see you. some drivers aren't very aware of other cars around them and this guy may have been ignorant of your location near him.
when I'm moving up past a car and know I'm in their blind spot, I speed up or back off to get out of that spot...I don't trust them to see me.
