Default Rusty rotors

I have a 2010 GS Conv. Would like to know if original rotors have painted hubs. They appear to be painted, but would like to know for sure to back up my warranty claim with GM

My 2013 GS has small amount of rust already, it had when I purchased it. You have to look hard but its there. My rotors centers are painted lightly. Seems they could have done a better job. Plan on repainting some time in future. Don't know if this a warrented claim. Let us know if you take it in.

GM does a carbonizing treatment to the rotors to try to slow them down for rusting.

The problem is that the treatment gets worn off where the pads contract, and the as for the other surfaces, will only holds the rust off for so long.

Trust is, unless you get the rotor's plated, or Paint coat them, then they are going to rust.

Just paint them. It is easy!

I do not believe you have a warrantee claim for rust on the top-hats of your rotors.
This is probably the easiest and "looks wise" DIY you can do.
Tip: make sure you use a high-temp rattle can paint or else the normal paint will wear right off. It's funny how a persons eyes go right to rusty rotors.

I painted mine with rust-olem eight years ago and they still look good.
