I'd say, check not just AutoZone, but Advance Auto, and Pep Boys (just read on here CF C6 that there's some kind of Mobil1+filter sale). Search either the web, or here C6Gen.
Also, 5 qt jug may require either none, 1/2 qt. or a little more, depending on your car model. You don't state the year, but as long as the oil meets the GM standard for your car (GM4718M for some years/models) and is full synthetic (or for later years went to Dexos which can be a synth. blend), you can use other oils at WalMart, and other stores such as Pennzoil, Quaker State, Castrol, etc.

As long as you have no political aversion to going to Walmart, or driving the Vette there, they have the best price for the 5 quart jug. Costco has the best price on a case of six single quarts when they have it on sale.

Holy chit! That's more than our local Chev dealer charges. I had $500 in free money to spend at a dealership due to a class action settlement. I loaded up on filters, belts, dexcool, Dextron, etc. I still had $$$ left so I had them add two cases of Mobil 1 (6 qts each) and they charged me $8.00 a quart.

Be careful
I always buy oil at Wal Mart best price in the area. Always check the seal on the bottle/jug. I have seen where people buy Mobile 1 and cheap oil, use the Mobile 1 and refill the Mobile 1 jug with the cheap oil and then return it for a refund. I have caught it several times when buying oil.

Why does that NOT surprise me at all? If you've ever seen the number of opened packages w. missing things in them at many stores, but mainly at Wal, it is truly disheartening. The above is a new one tho, and I will check from now on! Thanks for the NEW heads up on how to cheat the NEXT customer.

Last year at Walmart, I purchased some Mobile 1 for the Vette and a jug of Dino oil for my old truck. Started to pour the Dino in and it was used oil! They gave me my money back and the clerk put the jug in a cart. I told her she should label the jug as such but she just ignored me. I'm sure it made its way back to the shelf.
