Default 2nd coat of Rejex ??

1st time using Rejex, washed with blue dish detergent to remove old wax, clay bared entire car, buffed out swirls with Megs. 205 using the Porter Cable, applied coat of Rejex. all this on my '13 black , now is it beneficial or preferred to apply a 2nd coat of Rejex tomorrow, then followed it up with a coat of carnauba wax...TIA

Sounds like you're good so far. I'm a Zaino user on the paint and Rejex on the wheels. I always wait 12 hours and put on a second coat. I say go for it.

A couple of coats is good to insure complete coverage but any more is probably a waste of time and effort. Rejex can't be layered on. As for the wax, try it and see if you can tell any difference.

Good idea on the wheels.

I was under the understanding that you don't wax with rejex. Am i wrong in my thinking?

I wax on top of Rejex. Just got in the habit. No real reason. I do a cleaner wax, Rejex and Carnuba on top.

I think the carnauba top coat adds a little depth.

From the RejeX site:

Is there any benefit to applying a second coat of RejeX?
Yes, there are some benefits to multiple coats. A second coat will add luster, provide more UV protection and the vehicle will be protected longer. For problem areas like diesel soot on the transom of large boat and black streaks common on RVs and boats that are stored outside, a second application of RejeX is sometimes needed to reject these stains. For the added benefit, it is important to allow RejeX to cure fully between coats.

I thought cleaner wax takes the Rejex off.

but the wax will wear off a lot quicker because it will not stick to the Rejex.

I got this idea in the Detail section. The Carnuba may be obsessive but it does make it look a little more wet. No doubt Rejex is great on it's own.

Why do some say to wash with Dawn to get all the wax off before you use the Rejex?

Rejex forms a cross linked bond and it needs to adhere to the paint for best results.

I used to use rejex but got tired of it showing greasy looking fingerprints whenever anyone touched the paint. MR on my 06 vert, might not be as bad on my AW. Now use M. ultimate wax and detail spray....very happy with them.

I have been using Rejex for almost 10 years.

On my black Z I put 2 coats after having it professionally polished. I have added 2 more coats, one every 3 months. The car is always covered or garaged. Every time I put a coat on it feels and looks better than before. You don't have anything to lose but an hour of your time by adding additional coats.

From what I understand you don't want to use rejex over any other products and no need to wax over it. Considering I have used rejex in both these fashions I would say there is no benefit to adding any other product to it.

I use rejex about once every two or three weeks and the paint looks great. I know I could go longer between uses but I enjoy detailing it.

After further thought and looking at previous pics, I have to agree with you. Rejex is enough. I put it on my bikes with nothing else and they look very wet and shiney.

Because ,you want your clear coat to be naked before adding Rejex...

You are correct Al. In addition the Rejex will adhere or bit to the surface much better if you wipe the surface down with ISO after buffing and correcting the finish. Megs has fillers and will leave oils on the surface, the alcohol will remove them.....very important step.
