Default Car stuck in Park ..Solenoid Question

I have read all the treads about the C6 being stuck in park.
I want to have the solenoid changed out. Anyone know where I can find this part or have a part number?

The solenoid is not available from GM separately. It's part of the shifter assembly.

Are you sure you don't want to just bypass it for free and never have to worry about it again?

Is this when you drill a hole and and wire it where it will stay open?

It's a long shot but check the shifter button. Mine was stuck in park and I thought it was the solenoid but turned out the actual button had one side that broke and it was not releasing the shifter.

The quick fix is the way to go. I did it in about 30 minutes. Never worry about it again. Fixing something with something that is going to break again is lunacy.

You don't even have to drill a hole if you use a tie wrap around the locking device to hold it back. Just run it in front of the lever.

Many of us fixed the issue with tying back the locking Pawl.

Automatic Transmission - Stuck in Neutral, or Park.

Another Corvette concern involves an automatic transmission that gets stuck in neutral. This affects all 2006 and 2007 models equipped with an automatic transmission, up to VIN 75105780.

Quick shifting from PARK to DRIVE after starting the vehicle can bind the shift lock control. This happens because the ECM requires at least one second to release the Transmission Shift Control Solenoid before the driver should move the shift lever.
Sometimes, when trying to Shift too quickly, it will not even get out of Park and will be stuck there.

Prior to the introduction of Keyless Access, the driver turned the ignition key and then moved to the shift lever – this gave the ECM enough time to send and receive signals.
With Easy Key, if the driver presses the START button and then immediately shifts the transmission shift lever, it is possible to beat the shift lock control signal to the ECM.

Cam Lock Normal Condition Cam Lock Released Properly
When this quick shifting occurs – the Cam Lock may not release – which causes the shifter to move without actually shifting gears. If the shift lever is placed into gear prior to the Shift Lock Control Solenoid deactivating the park pawl, the shift assembly can become jammed leaving the vehicle stuck in neutral.

An updated shifter assembly with improved tolerances will begin showing up on vehicles starting with VIN number 75405780. This revised shift assembly will have the same part number as the current shifter assembly. This unfortunately did not totally solve the problem. The New shifters were and are also plagued with the same symptoms.

There is a forum member who posted a pic of how to unlock the shifter without taking it apart.
He simply pushed down on the lever under the shifter boot in this area.
I never tried that, since I had already tied back my Pawl, so I don't know if it works all the time.

Here is where to push if the shifter gets stuck in Park.

I didn't see anything about it on page one, but there is a thread on here somewhere where the guy threaded the wire into the console storage compartment, so if ever needed, he could just open the lid and pull the wire.

I remember reading that too. HAS ANYONE EVER ACTUALLY TRIED THIS?

Although my '07 w/28k miles is fine, I've been meaning to tie it back since I bought the car two years ago. To me, that is the no-brainer solution.

Haven't done it yet though. However, if I ever do get stuck somewhere I will first try that ^ and if it doesn't work I will cut through the boot. That seems to be much preferable, and cheaper, to having it flatbedded back home.

ours got stuck in park, but the shifter would move thru all positions, searched and discovered there is a nylon grommet that connects the shifter to the cable, you have to get under the car, remove the tunnel plate it's not a real pita, but enough. went to autozone, spent like less than $5.00, and bam !!! fixed
