Torch Red Paint Touch-Up
The only paint imperfection on my car are these few scrapes on the passenger side mirror. How would you suggest fixing this? I have heard good things about Dr. Colorchip. Let me hear your suggestions.

I have marks just like that , and a few on my hood
I used regular touch up paint , I dab just a little into the chip let it dry and dab it again to build it up to the factory level . After a month of washing and waxing you can't even notice it
I use a small corner of a peice of really thin cardboard or a really thin small hobby brush to drop a small dot of paint right into the center of the chip and gently move it around till it meets the edges as the brush that comes with the touchup paint applies way to much paint
Tried Dr Color chip on my CTS and was not happy with the results , I am sure it was my fault as I just could not get the application down , wipe to early and I took all the paint out , wipe to late and it looked like crap.....

I also tried Dr. Color chip and gave up. Maybe it works on teeny tiny chips but then again so would the GM chip paint bottle. So I have the same scratch on my mirror and I filled it with the GM chip touch up. Not perfect but I figure the more I drive my Vette the more scratches and chips I'll get and the more I get the less it bothers me. It was just that first one that really bothered me.

I just drove by a local body shop and they mixed me up a small bottle. That's the best way to go with this. I have never found any of the commercially advertised stuff to work as easily as seen on TV.

I just did a Dr. Color chip repair and was not impressed. Have had better luck with a small brush. You will likely still be able to see the repair unless sanded and buffed, but that can be tricky if you go to far. I think having a shop spray it will be the only thing that won't show the repair.

I have used both Dr color chip and regular touch up paint. They both work fine depending on the type of damage. From the photo, I would think the Dr. Color chip would work and I would try that first.
I will build up the color in the damaged area then very lightly wet sand level. Dr color chip uses a chemical solution to level off the touch up paint but there are times I have wet sanded vs using their chemical. Then I move to the polish to bring back any dull spots.
Once you do it a few times, it's pretty easy.

I have fixed dozens of small chips with Dr. Colorchip. Their Torch Red paint matches perfectly. It works best on small chips. The smaller ones I have fixed are impossible to detect. The larger ones are noticeable close up but still a big improvement. Well worth $50 cost.

I have a scrape on the same place and same mirror. I got a quote from my body shop guy for $125 to repaint the mirror and wet sand/buff so it will match my recent paint correction. I'll be pulling it off this weekend and dropping it off on Monday. The cost to repaint just the mirror is too small to waste time doing touch-up.

I bet you did what I did with my car backing out of the garage.
I used the good Dr ColorChip, perfect match, and you will never I touched it up.
