High Everyone, I'm shopping for wheels and am looking at West Coast Corvette Reproduction Wheels. Are these wheels high quality construction? Anyone have a review Thanks so much for your input

No, they are not. WCC (and this is straight from their mouths) says that defects in the barrels are not considered to be defects in the wheels, so if your set happens to have manufacturing defects in the finish, you're expected to live with it.

Here's a few examples of what WCC considers to be "acceptable:"

The spots you see here are actually pitting in the polished finish....

Needless to say, I shipped them back and bought a set of wheels from a local speed shop.

Thanks very much Ed... I've been waiting a long time to replace the stock 5 spokes. I really appreciate your post.

I bought C7 Z51 replicas in gloss black from WCC. I've had them for several years and am very happy with the quality.

Edit: Deleted the old guys and chrome comment because everyone ignored it

Often, reproduction wheels will be discounted when they are 2nds, or flawed. Does not mean you will be told outright that they are 2nds. If you are going to consider repro wheels, be sure to ask prior to purchase if they are 2nds, or if there are "any flaws in the wheel, anywhere".

One good thing about buying from ebay, if you choose to, is that you can exercise the buyer's protection guarantee on an item if it is so listed. Makes for a much safer purchase.

RW Repilicas on ebay seems to have really great chrome quality on their rims.

Thanks

Old guys tend to buy chrome wheels and usually can't see well enough to notice flaws on the barrels.
I have the same on my C 5 and have had no issues or defects, three years and 15,000 miles !!

Bought a set several years back. Same as stated above. Flaws in paint and finish. I was told basically it's a $900 set of wheels. You get what you pay for. Not a lie, but not what you want to hear from a vendor.
At any rate they wanted me to pay to return them. I had to fight for them to issue UPS call tags, then had to dispute charges on credit card to get my money back.
Never ordered a thing from them again, and never will.

When I was ordering my wheels I made it very clear that they were going on a show car, and that they could not have any defects at all. I even went so far as to ask if they unboxed the wheels and inspected them prior to shipping, and they told me they did. You see what I ended up with.

Funny, I was told the same thing. They told me if I wanted wheels that didn't have defects I'd have to spend at least $3000, and they'd be happy to take my order....

To my knowledge, it used to be (could have changed since) that wheels were direct-shipped from whomever made/remade them. So, unboxing, inspecting and re-boxing would have been unlikely. Maybe that's changed for some suppliers/vendors.

WCC told me they do this for every wheel order. When mine were shipped to me they were no longer in a typical "wheel" box, but were instead repackaged in a makeshift box that contained two wheels instead of one.

Be sure to check the weights, some could be used to anchor an
aircraft carrier

I bought ZR1 replica wheels with Michelins, and TPMS monitors, mounted and balanced from WCC and ran them on my2007 for 4 years. Couldn't be happier.
As soon as they start handling tires I like, I plan to do it again.

I got my replica black chrome C7 Z06 style wheels thru Florida Speed Shop, but the replica wheels seem to all come from FACTORY REPRODUCTIONS (Made in China) no matter which vendor you choose. They (all or most) seem to drop ship directly from them in Chino, CA. Pricing also seems real close no matter the vendor.

The center caps they supply were really cheap and they provided Corvette emblem decals, but the stock center caps fit great, so that's what we used for mine. Otherwise, the wheels look great and balanced out nicely with the tires from my stock GS wheels (Cooper Zeon RS-3).

For just under $1100 delivered, I'm pleased.

How do you like the black chrome? Can you describe the look? Hard to tell from pictures. Thanks
