Default z06 vs Zr1 from the rear

well, simple question, could you make out by simply looking at a Zr1 from the rear, that its not a Z06, and not a C6 (for the un-trained eye)?

I know its a corvette after all, but not even one mod in the looks department??

Plz dont comment about the badge, I could stick that badge on a caravan, doesn't make it a ZR1

ideas?

Exhaust diameter, fender flares, tire width....all giveaways that it is not a base C6.

Biggest difference between Zr1 and Z06 from the rear is the spoiler.

The ZR1 will be a bit smaller when viewed from the rear. Why? Because it should be further away

Not just the biggest, but the ONLY difference is the spoiler, which will be just as easy to add to a Z06 as the badge.

I would take the opposite route, and remove the spoiler from my ZR1. I'd lose the splitter and hood window, too, but that's just me.

It also has wider tires.

I was also under the impression that the fender flares were a bit more exagerated on the ZR1 as well.

As far as exhaust...I dont know if their tips look different or not.

Fender flares look identical (can't imagine any change needed for a 10 mm wider tire) and anyone that can eyeball a 335 mm tire vs a 325 from more than 2 feet away has better eyes than me!

I didnt say the tires were a big difference...just a difference

I DID think the fender flares were a bit larger, but I could certainly be wrong about that one.

beleive me the tips are exactly the same as the Z06, the wing is also on the Ron Fellows Z, the tires are wider by 10mm? even the trained eye could not notice that beleive me.

there are soo many things on my wish list for the ZR1, but all of them are doable, so I guess ill have to get things done myself =D

doesnt matter, you can only spot those perforations when the car is new, with a little dirt deep inside the tip, you wont see them. So that proves that the ZR1 aint any bit different than the Z06 unfortunately!! I think more has to be done on the ZR1 to distinguish it from the other vettes, as this is the super vette.

I did too - but I think some of the original G2 indicated "bigger fenders to accommodate larger tires" but there was never any details.

Now that the car has been shown (at least a RC/near-production model) and technical info released, it +seems+ that it was only the front fenders that changed [from the Z06]. I know people have put a 345 tire on the rear of stock Z06's and it fits perfect (and on a 12.5-13" wheel width too I believe), so I think the rear fenders are the same.

I figure if they were going with something different, they likely would have made a small cosmetic tweak too (for another point of differentiation).

My tips are NOT perforated, and neither are my friends on his 07. Mine was 06 purchased in 12/05, and his was purchased in 12/06. Maybe there was a mid 07 change.

Aside from the spoiler and that hideous badge, the rear end of the ZR-1 is indistinguishable from the Z06.
