The usually come in right around $930 for the bricks, modifying, and with shipping. GM is currently back ordered so I'm waiting on more to come in for now.

Dont get stuck burning up your bricks and leaking coolant into the engine, we can turn these things around in 1-2 days!

How prevalent is this? What is the typical failure window? I have every intention on having this performed, I'm just wondering with 20k miles how worried I should be.

It's tough to say. I always tell people to pop the lid off and look just to be safe especially when doing other mods. Some have been surprised to find one or both damaged.

Yes still a quick turn around. GM has been hit and miss the last couple times we ordered new bricks.

When sending in used units it is 1-2 day turn around time, new units depends on dealer inventory, lately they have been in stock.

Dozens of bricks modified and shipped! Keep them coming for some cheap insurance! Stock bricks have been tested and proven to cool better than any aftermarket option they just need a little protection!

More sets heading out the door this week! A cheap insurance policy to make sure your bricks stay in one piece! Don't replace them with expensive and less efficient aftermarket options!

Is it a big job to inspect them? Has anyone written a tutorial? Thanks

Pretty easy to pull the lid off and bricks out to look over. If they are damaged it's usually pretty obvious.

Still modifying and shipping these out weekly!

Took mine out to send to D3 last night. Here are a few tips if you are adventurous.
Get a jiffy tite connector and plug it into your blower coolant inlet and suck out the coolant. No mess at all when taking lid apart.
Instead of lowering the cradle to access the blower lid bolts, take the decorative cowl piece off (about 5 minutes) and drill 2 holes in the rough cowl above the 2 bolts you can't get to. You will never see these holes with the decorative piece on, and the lid will be off in record time.
