Default Paxton guys, I need help

Hello all,

A couple days after changing the belts on my 08z I got this weird noise coming from my blower. Doesn't sound normal to me. It's an ecs 1500 kit. Any idea what I should check or what it is?

Really hard to tell from the video. Almost sounds like you have some belt noise. Bearing noise on a Paxton is really hard to diagnose from a video. They usually sound worse to me in a video than they actually do. Mine sounds normal to me, but on a video it almost sounds like yours. Is there a good shop nearby you could take it to?

Mine sounds absolutely horrible on video.. in person it's nearly quiet, so it's really tough to tell on video

Video isn't the best, I know. It does sound like a bad bearing though. I just wanted to get some other opinions. Unfortunately it's going away for the winter tomorrow, so taking it to a shop is out of the question till next year.

I'd pull belt off and spin all the pullies by hand and see if you find anything unusual

Good suggestion, also if the belt is old try replacing it. Sometimes a rib can be worn and make noise.

I just put brand new belts on the car a week prior to the noise starting, So I'm guessing it's something with bearings or maybe a bolt being loose somewhere. How tight do you guys have you supercharger tensioner? The 2 belts are almost touching on mine. May be the issue

Mine are almost touching too, that's how it's designed so that isn't the problem

I basically tighten the manual tensioner until the spring loaded tensioner is maxed out on mine
