supercharger
I am considering installing edelbrock 1590 or 1591 supercharger on my 2013 GS I just turned 12k miles. Thoughts pro or con are welcomed. It looks like the least amount of modifications and conservative results which is ok by me. the fuel pump looks like a big install issue maybe have this done at dealer? thanks in advance

You also left out the most important bit of information... why do you want a supercharger?

I would strongly suggest looking at other models depending on goals. For a PD blower I would do a heartbeat over the eforce. Whipple over eforce too.
Then again I think corvettes work much much better with Centri style blowers.

I like the insane power in my son in laws cts-v and I am tired of chasing him.i did look at the heartbeat unit also might be the way to go.

I have looked at them also and the heartbeat unit looks good just need to find a vendor and get more info. I would prefer not to change hood but that is not a deal breaker.

I talked one if my customers out of the Eforce and into an ECS kit. He now neighbors on 600rwhp, has a clean setup with massive potential, and the car has been stone cold reliable.

Good points here but I will throw in that if you like the eforce it is very reliable and tons of power and fun for the street. It is just not the best option for racing or going for really big power.

thanks do not really want to turn this into a race car just some bragging rights for the street cruises. I want a reliable system that will not require constant adjustment.

I live in Ohio and Both my friend and I picked up our ECS-1500 from Matt at FSP. I stopped down at the shop and BS'd with the guys while on vacation every year. They know their stuff.
Ive had a few Whippled 03 Cobras and the heat soak from a twin screw sucks.
With that, I love the centrie. You do not have to tap into the oil system with the 1500 kit's. They are self contained with a dip stick and drain that makes oil changes a breeze.
You can get the oil at Summit, 3 changes for $30.

Can't go wrong with a A&A centri kit. Very reliable and makes plenty of power for bragging rights. Great bang for the buck too.

This is what was recommended to me by my installer and mine has been problem-free for almost a year. Thanks for making a great kit!

- Both kits are very reliable.
- They don't require any adjustment and very little maintenance.
- They make more top end power than the PD blowers (E-Force).
- They are easier to put the power down than a PD blower.
PD blowers make a lot of torque down low, which is one of the primary reasons GM put PTM (performance traction management) on the C6 ZR1. The centri units behave like stock on the low end but come on strong as the revs increase and will pull all the way to red line. The Vette is a light car and doesn't need a huge amount of torque down low to get it moving, and the power build on the top end is where you need it to win a race. I made 600RWHP with just LS7 exhaust manifolds and an A&A kit on my 13 GS and hammered on it all the time. Never had any issues even in the Texas heat (my kit did include an upgraded DeWitts radiator). Ran it that way for over a year and about 12K miles, then dropped a pulley size and added methanol injection and made 672RW. Have continued to hammer on it for another year and 10K miles, including doing the Texas 1/2 mile (probably 10 160+MPH passes) and recently driving it to the Arkansas mile and doing 16 passes (top speed of 186.7MPH) and driving it home.
From your stated objectives, I'd say just do a regular A&A kit without meth (or maybe 50/50 water/meth) and enjoy it. Just be aware, it's very addictive once you do the blower, and you'll always be thinking "just a little more boost won't hurt...". I'm about to drop another pulley size, and then I'll be done (for now anyway...).
