Default Fuel Line Fittings

I am installing an in line fuel shut off valve and was wondering if I can use TEFLON tape to seal the threads between the fittings? Will the teflon react with the fuel? Any alternatives?
Thanks

If they are AN fittings nothing is needed. On NPT threads I use a product called Staybond Part#S592 Pipe Sealant with Teflon, Resists oils and solvents, Locks against loosening by vibration, Lubricates threads, Instant seal and Protects against corrosion.
