Default C6 Z06 cam help

i'm getting the G7X4 cam from LG Motorsports put into my 07 Z06. it's propietary, so they won't tell me the specs, but it's somewhere around the 570-580 lift?
i honestly don't know very much about cams (or engines at all for that matter), but from what i gather, doesn't the LS7 stock cam have 59x lift? i can't imagine i'm putting in a smaller cam. plus they have upgraded cams that are 515-525, 535-550, etc..
i know, i know, i shoulda researched it BEFORE dropping the car off, but their video sounded so badass and i'd love to have close to 600 rwhp

sorry about all the rambling, can someone just explain how a 570-580 cam is an "upgrade", how it'll give me 80 or so rwhp, and why ls1tech.com guys are telling me that it sounds like a small cam? (it's LG's largest cam without having to build the motor). thanks yall!!

There are alot of different factors involved with cams. While the lift may be greater with the stock cam(which I dont know what the specs are for the stock Z06 cam, I am just going by what you said) The duration may be greater with the aftermarket cam. The duration is how long the valves stay open. So the stock cam may open the valves farther but the aftermarket cam holds them open longer. Also lobe separation plays a part in it too. I'm not really sure how lobe separtion is directly related to more horsepower, but the less degree of lobe separation there is, the more idle lope you get. Because the closer the lobes are, the more overlap there is,meaning the time when the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time. The way that cam sounds, I would say its probably 112lsa

The Z06 has 1.8 rocker arms which adds to the net lift resulting in .591 or is it .591 plus the 1.8's? I'm not 100% sure as it doesnt pertain to me so I never read up on that fact so verify it before jumping in. Is your cam a net at .580 with the same rocker arms or is it .580 with the use of 1.7's in an LS2?

1. It's a higher lift, as the G7X3 lift is higher to start with.

2. intake .591 .588 exh is the valve lift after the 1.8 rocker arm. To find the cam lift divide by your rocker arm ratio.

3. Try to get a dyno of just the cam.

There is seldom an isolated cam dyno. There are always tricks ie racing fuel, shaved head, EWP, you name it.

In my discussion with them the lobe separation for the G7x3, x4 and x5 is 118. The lift and durations change for all. Also, they are only available in a package with ported and shaved heads, new valves, springs, etc.
