Default Low speed surging and bucking

My 09 coupe with z51 always has mild surging/bucking at parking lot speeds no codes, dealer says it is normal but it drives me crazy. Any throttle at all jumps from idle(650rpm) to 1100rpm in neutral. Has anyone fixed this problem? Help.
Thanks in advance,
Chuck

Mine has always done that too a bit. There was a thread a while back that touched on this. A number of us checked the gap on our spark plugs and found them to be inconsistant. After some re-gapping it has helped a bit, so you might try that. I think honestly it's probably in the factory tune.

I would check the airfilter for being correctly seated and the screws that hold it in place are tight. I would also check the coupler between the air bridge and the throttle body for proper seating and that the clamps are tight.... The 08's and up are very sensitive about smooth air flow...

thanks, everything lines up and is tight. I haven't checked gaps yet, but will. Any other hints appreciated.

I'd be interested to hear what can assist in reducing this as well. I experience the same issue on my '08. Although, I installed Borla Stingers last week, this has seemed to help some.

I figure most of it is the factory tune. Plan to have the car tuned anyway, so that could solve the annoyance.

I think this is normal behavior for the LS3 (esp see post #6):
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...l-hunting.html

And it's a small price to pay for incredible performance.

I guess it is an LS3 thing. I'll just live with it and tell my passengers i can drive, the car just has too much power!!

I bet it could easily be fixed with a tune, but I don't want to tune out my 100000mile warranty.

It is the tune. yes even the factory tune can be off enough to cause your symptoms. a new dyno tune will fix it. the throttle body & the maf can be from a new lot and the variance is + - 5% most of the time but if it is of more then you get the bucking & surge. If you check your short term fuel trims you will see what I mean. (they will be off).

side note the electronics in the maf & TB carry different serial numbers for factory cpu programs.

If there is a tuner out there who can perfect my 09's driveability tuning without forcing me to run in either pure MAF or speed density mode I'd sure like to talk with them.

I had a similar problem with my 08 A6, rough idle, hard start etc., finally set a code, dealer replaced air sensor and air bridge, service writer told me there was a campaign out on the air bridge. Running fine now although I have not put many miles on since the fix. Check with your local dealer for any TSB s. Good Luck

I have an 08 new in August. No bucking or surging until I removed the radiator shroud to clean out the remains of a slow flying Dove. After the issues of removal I decided not to put the shroud back on until I replaced the air box with an aftermarket. The minute I drove the car down the street on to the highway it started bucking and surging and coded. Anybody else had a similar situation? I'm guessing if I return the factory rad. shroud the coding will clear and the bucking will stop? Any comments would be appreciated.
