Hi All, This air intake sounds interesting to me. Maybe Iam thick
headed but I don't understand why the throttle response at low
rpm would be better?

Because the stock system requires air to be sucked when on demand.
The OEM system is restrictive.
The intake frees up the restriction and allows the air to be
sucked with way less effort - giving better throttle response
Think sucking through a small diameter straw vs a large diameter
straw

Always wrap your filter for a few hours in newspaper - it's generally
over oiling from the factory that causes the CEL. Oil from the filter
gets on the MAF wires...

I had a K&N for a year but its just a filter replacement. Measured the vacuum at the fitting that's between the filter and throttle body. It was half of what it was with the stock filter. That was good. After a year was wondering about the oiled K&N messing up the MAF. Took a reading and it was 11.5 gms/sec at idle. Cleaned the MAF with the special cleaner fluid and now it read 10 gms/sec. Not really sure if it was due to the oiled air filter. I now have the Airaid with the un-oiled filter. A vacuum reading of the intake showed an even lower reading. Thats even better. But I haven't taken a MAF reading yet. Haven't thought about it until now so I'll do that first chance.

Hi Chip -
Been looking for a CAI, narrowed it down to this vs. K&N. Which would you suggest - I have a '05 LS2.
Also looking to get some MagnaFlow shorty headers (700009), and a Diablo InTune I1000. Can you PM me cost for all the above with shipping to 55113?

Have an LS2 MN6. I just had the Airaid Synthamax installed, along with upgrading my stock exhaust to a Mid America Quad Power, and got a nice street tune with settings towards the track. LOVE the look of the intake, throttle response is noticeably faster. Dyno'd 384 rwhp, love the sound of the Quad Power as well!
