Default drag times with HP

What kind of times are we getting with 456RWHP 427RWTQ? 05 vert. A4, Stock gears(3.15), stock converter, lts hiflo cats z06 muff. Ls3 heads, Big cam. HP pk about 6100. my car only traps 121mph hot or cold out. Seems should be atleast 124+. It just doesnt seen on par for 456HP. Maybe the converter?? It does drop 2400-2700 rpm on the shift. Anyone else have experience to chime in?. Thanks

Actually, with stock gears and converter that's not too bad of a trap speed even at that power level, especially if it was warm out.
That cam is begging for a converter so it can do it's job properly.
A set of 3.73 and at least a 3200 (I'd go 3600+) stall along with the right drag radials will transform that car entirely.

It runs 120-121 whether its 55 degrees out or 85 degrees out. Best time to date 11.73@121.25 on DRs with 1.92 60. I guess Im going 3.42 and yank 3600 as of right now

My friend Justasheet has similar mods except factory heads but + a FAST, a 3200 converter, and similar mph.

Converter/gear and you'll trap mid 120s without a problem.

456 rwhp should be good for a LOT more mph than that.

I'm trapping higher with ~400 through my stalled auto.

I have a manual but my numbers are nearly exact to your (456hp/425tq on mine). On motor I trapped 123 mph. I don't know hw muh of a difference manual and auto will make, but I was hoping this would give you a similar comparison given we have the same numbers. Hope this helps.

Trans tune can effect mph too. What rpm is it shifting at? Also skinnies up front are worth ~1mph.

im shifting at 6850 into second and it drops to 4100 in second. it drops to 42-4300 into third. peak power is around 6100 and ive tried shifting lower and it lost ET. it has such a HUGE drop at the change that even shifting way past the hp peak it drops well below the tq peak. I keep hearing that with an aftermarket converter it will only drop about 1200. Then maybe I can drop my shift to ~63-6400.. this is an A4 car

thanks guys. If we have good weather Wednesday I hope to push it into the mid 10.8s. That 1.49 60' was on my first launch so I think experimenting a little should net 1.46-1.48s. Ill keep you posted.

Hitting 10's was so much more work 30 years ago.

Don't know if this helps, but with 400 rwhp, i'm tapping 120. I think you should be 124-126

True. But there are of course a few different factors that can contribute to trap speed.
I've gone well into the 125s with only 393rwhp, based on that his car should maybe be closer to 130mph even but not every set up is the same.
