Bumper Wings Won't stay down

I would not pry it out as it could enlarge the hole in the urethane. It's much better to cut it out. A wood chiesel should work well.

When I replace one on my car, it still would not stay down. So we wound up putting a s all thin washer behind so the ramp portion protruded more. That worked like a charm.

Hi guys, I have a question. If you refer to the last picture in post #5, that is the part that is broken on my car. I understand how to put the new part in, but how do I go about taking the broken part out? What is the best method?
I know in that post it says to "snip" off the flat piece. Well how is that supposed to work since the flat piece is flush against the fender?
Thanks!

I did not remove the whole front piece.. All I did was remove the inner lip bolts... I think there are 3 or 4 ... Once they are off, pry the front piece off .. That will expose the clips..

Are these the same clips I would use on an 07 base coupe because gene culleys homepage says these are for the grandsport or z06. Also how much would it cost for the dealer to do it for me?

Those are the one's I used for my 2007 vert. As for dealer costs ... although it is a fairly simple and quick job, I was given an estimate of $110 dolalrs to do what I did under $10.

Great write up. I ordered my clips from GM Parts House and there were inexpensive. They arrived today. This was an easy fix and took only 10 minutes for one side and I tend to be overly meticulous so you could probably do it in 5 minutes.

Hey guys I'm in the process of changing both the clips and fasteners, but I'm having a hard time looking for the part numbers. Which ones would it be?
http://www.cultragfactoryparts.com/a...-scat?mobile=0
would the stealership be an option to buy all 4 fastener's or is this site better?

The dealer may want to sell you a package of 10 rather than individuals. Never hurts to ask if he can sell individually.
Just put in the part # in the space at the top of Cultag Performance page, and it will come up with the part name, price etc.
Part #- 11561329 - Genuine GM (ROCKER MOLDING RETAINER) $4.74 each
Part #-11609871 - Genuine GM (BUMPER COVER RETAINER) $0.97 each

Either one will do. they have the same parts, but the dealership may be a tad more expensive, but offset by the extra shipping cost of Cultrag or GM parts direct.

I have replaced all the clips and it still pops up. The only Way I can see to "fix" it is a whole new front clip or two 3" deck screws down through this pos.
It is such a cheaply built pos car for what it is supposed to be.

I had to adjust my fenders just slightly to close the gap a little and that helped a lot.
