Z06 Muffler Question
Does anyone know if the OEM NPP Exhaust for the Z06 is different from 2008 to 2009? Will the 08 fit on the 09?

I'VE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE TELL ME THEY ARE DIFFERENT, SO AFTER I POSTED THIS THREAD, I LOOKED UP THE PARTS ON THE GM WEBSITE AND THE MUFFLERS HAVE DIFFERENT PART NUMBERS - (06-08) AND (09-10) -

[QUOTE=CorvetteRL;1579023943]SAN - WHENEVER YOU GET OUT OF THE "RIGHT" SIDE OF THE BED - CHIME IN... UNTIL THEN...
You implied the NPP OEM exhaust is on the Z06. It is not. The Z06 exhaust is different than the NPP. It's not that difficult to understand and not nearly as complicated as the Caps Lock key (which you obviously haven't mastered).

[QUOTE=smurfkiller;1579028797]Good Grief guys! Just trying to get some help here... The point is simple... I have a 2009 Z06 with an after market exhaust system. This is my first Z06 and all I know is it came with the dual mode exhaust... I'm trying to put the OEM mufflers back on the car to soften it a little. So, I go to the forum where there is always guys willing to help other corvette guys in need. But then, I run into guys like you two! What the heck. If I knew all this technical crap I wouldn't be here asking questions right? I don't need to be preached to about the technicality of my question!!! Or insults thrown my way. If that's all you two can do then simply go to another thread.
When Chevrolet dealerships are telling me that the STOCK EXHAUST is different from the 2008 and 2009 Z06 and that they even have different item #'s from GM - one listed (06-08) and another listed (09-10) - I get a little worried considered I have a set of 2008 Z06 mufflers in route to me (to put on my 2009) via UPS as I type and an appointment to have then in stalled Thursday... So, I could get real help instead of being insulted - that would be great!

RL, people are just having fun here and providing correct info at the same time
used z06 muffs sell for 450 on the high end, the swap takes about an hour at most
I've done quite a few here in CT
A lot of members will cut open the Z06 cans to 'wrap' the perforated pipe, this turns the cans into the 2011Z style or ZR1 style can
part numbers can change from a different supplier, etc

I believe the 2009 and up over-the-axle piping changed. You might be able to have a muffler shop modify your 2008 Z06 exhaust, but you might be better off selling it and buying a 2009 Z06 exhaust.
Just to clarify, the Z06 exhaust uses different interior piping, tips and over-the-axle piping than the NPP. Some on the forum think they're the same and it's difficult to tell what people are trying to do when they refer to a Z06 exhaust as NPP and NPP as a Z06 exhuast. It would be like saying "I need help with an OEM Z06 6.0L motor", no such animal.

I can't see any competent shop not being able to modify the 2008 Z06 exhaust to fit.
I forgot to mention to the OP, not sure how "soft" you want the exhaust, but you might want to consider the Z06 muffler mod. I did it to mine (Z06 muffler on C6 with long-tube headers) and like it.

Your original question lacked vital information and contained conflicting nomenclature. Only now when you bi ch about the responses, do you bother to explain relevant details.
The question, "I have an '09 Z06 and need to replace the mufflers. Will the '08 Z06 mufflers be an exact replacement?", would have had a simple answer.
I certainly would have asked the question BEFORE I bought, rather than as an afterthought.

You can only get accurate technical help when you fully explain your problem and answer any questions without complaint.

And again I obviously left out something - I'm LOOKING at a 2008 Z06 cat back muffler system to buy to put on my 2009!!!! So, does it fit - I'm still getting answers saying YES and NO!!!! Dang!

[QUOTE=CorvetteRL;1579043137][QUOTE=HOXXOH;1579035933]It will fit just fine, they are all the same from 06 to 2010 as far as fitment goes. There maybe internal differences in the 2011 models but as far as bends and fitment goes its ALL THE SAME.
