Halltech's ULZ700 ready for final weigh in
Some of you may know that next week is our final weigh in and dyno fight with Katech Jason's Track Attack Z06.
Pics until then. This car will be at the Joliet Autobahn Katech Track Attack along side the Katech Monster. Who will win the weight/power ratio challenge?
The weight above is not our final weight. Next week we shave off 29 more lbs or more with the Halltech OS Giken clutch. 900lb-ft rated, 28 lbs vs. 56.4 lbs stock.
That should put our ULZ700 Z06 at 4.06 lbs/hp. Check out the new McLaren, Ferrari Italia, Lambo Aventador, 2012 Viper, Porsche Turbo, Nissan Turbo, and you will see that none of them come close to the weight/power ratio of the Halltech ULZ700.
You would have to spend 2 million dollars to buy a Bugatti Veyron to get a better weight/power ratio.
The new McLaren 5.20 lbs/hp by comparison.

We sell these for $2989.00 900lb-ft rated. MORE
That will put us at 2836 lbs 1gallon; 2944 full of E85.
Final weight was 2836lb, but we have 10lbs coming off in about two weeks with a new set of headers we are developing. Never ends.

The clutch was absolutely incredible. engagement right at the top, which makes shifting a breeze. The throughout bearing was far superior to the stock unit, made of very strong steel.
The pilot bearing temperature never got above 188F. We had a Katech thermalcoupler onboard for R&D.
The clutch saved 29lbs over the stock clutch. 28.2 lbs vs. 56.5lbs.

The original dyno was not really very realistic, which I figured all along. Conversion factors aside, our car did 641 HP on the Katech engine dyno, which is the real number two years ago. Since then we have added an ATI damper, and some additional tuning, so 660 HP is very realistic. 700 is not.
The real number was 561 RWHP/525 lbs ft torque on the Dynojet. The wet bulb on the new dyno was seemed somewhat off, since it read 33% when it had rained that morning. 2834 lbs.
The wet bulb standard is 0%. Anything above that creates an upward correction factor.
Jasons car with heads and a 110 Torquer cam vs. our 116 cam did 569.7 RWHP on the same dyno the day before.

I understand flywheel power to weight ratio hasn't changed, just curious to compare your rear wheel gains with mine when I dropped 24lbs off the rotating assembly with 22lb clutch.

from lower rotation losses in the powertrain.
Someone should do back to back dynos on the chassis dyno A-B where just the clutch is changed.
Do you have numbers?

You will definitely see gains, even more so than swapping lighter wheels...here are mine, I expect yours would be even greater
