Default 05 Rear hatch won't close

I tried the search first, guys...no luck.

The rear hatch on my 05 coupe won't pull down . Its taking 5 or 6 times of virtually slamming it down, and just luck when it works. It's the power latch. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Default A Little Help

Try letting the hatch shut easily then pressing it down to help the latching mechanism do its job. Might be all you need.

If the above does not work, the latch will need to be adjusted or replaced.

Is it any better with the windows rolled down?

VetteCop29,

I'm sorry your hatch isn't working properly. Please keep me informed on what happens at your dealer?

Ok. Yes, when I leave the door open, it closes. It takes a little more of a 'slam', but hatch catches and pulls it closed.

Now what?

Adjust the latch first.
Then report back.

(With the doors open you are reducing the cabin pressure so the hatch does down easier - I don't think this is related to the electronic system).

Sounds like you have to have the lock mechanism raised a little.
