Havent driven 2010 GS in over 2 weeks and when I got in the engine light came on and stayed on. Checked gas cap. Any ideas? Car has 24000 miles

If checking the gas cap fixed it, the system still needs a few start and run cycles to clear the code. You must either wait for this or clear the code with a reader. My point is that unless you read the codes, fixing something that causes a light will not turn off the light right away. The system is designed to go through a few cycles in order to make sure that the condition is really gone.

Thanks. I'll try to get codes read. Just makes no sense since car has been sitting and then does this

Did you get gas the last time you drove the car before this? If so, this makes complete sense.

No I didnt. Down to half a tank. Car seems to be idling a little rough.

These cars are notorious for the plug wires coming off, check them at the plug and coil pack, they seem to slip off the coil pack quite often, good luck...
