New engine, and the boots and wires are cooked in 4 weeks?

I have run the same boots on my ProCharged 6 for 8 years and 65k miles, and they still look almost new.

Ever shot the tube temps on the headers? Sounds to me that your timing many be way off, and the headers getting too hot?

Not really getting this either. I'm running the original wires with koolsox on my car which has been supercharged for almost 4 years now. They are in perfect condition still. If I felt like replacing them just because of age, I would go with the same OEM wires.

OK so I did have the spark plug terminal pull off the wire the other day. The wire did not want to come off so I had to pull quite hard and the terminal was still on the plug. I was able to slide the wire down through the ceramic and open up the terminal and re-crimp it on. The wire inside the ceramic looked just like the rest of the wire. It didn't look damaged or melted or deteriorated at all. I did go ahead and order another set though. It's been a year. I doubt my MSD's would have lasted that long.

~six months later and I've had at least two more wires come apart on me when changing plugs. This is at the terminal that Accel crimps on inside the ceramic. Sometimes the terminal pulls off and sometimes the wire breaks just under the crimp.

I contacted Accel/Holley and they won't sell you just the spark plug terminal (so they can sell more wires). If anyone knows where I can get some (they have tabs that seat them in the ceramic boot) I'd be grateful. That way I can make my own end to end.

At this point, although I love everything else about the wires, I can't recommend them. I'm nervous every time I have to change plugs that a wire is going to break.

I took my Z06 out of storage last Friday. It is in Walsh Motorsports for a new COMP Camshaft cam, a new C&R Racing radiator, new Radio Flyer Innovations quad HyperVision HID headlights, a new WaveTrac differential, a new Liberty Performance 0.796:1 5th gear, and some paint touchup work.

The ACCEL ceramic spark plug wires are still doing fine.

How often do you change plugs?
