Default Torque Converter

I have a 2011 GS @ 13500 miles the dealer replaced the torque tube. Now @ 14000 miles they are telling me the torque converter needs to be replaced. Is this an issue with GS's?

Why does it need to be replaced? Can he explain that to you? What problems are you experiencing? Is it being replaced under warranty?
My 2013 GS only has 1858miles on it and my butt is telling me that my converter needs to be replaced - with a Yank!

There is a vibration at idle and a sound like something is loose. It is under warranty and they had a GM area rep look at it and he told them to replace the converter. Have asked them to let me see it when they tear it apart so I can understand better why they are replacing it.
