Default Parking brake m6

My parking brake sensor on my 08 m6 base is acting up. Sometimes when engaging my PB it illuminates on the dash, other times it does not. The light is not what bothers me, however, the auto recall for removing my 235lb self from a two door coupe not engaging is the aggravating part. It will not let me exit mode until the PB light is illuminated. Nor will my hatch release, all kinds of other small stuff...

Thanks in advance for the help

Reset your ECU and see if it will fix the problem.

Unhook the battery cables and let it sit for 15 mins.

No worries. I thought you were being nice!

The switch is on the front side of the parking brake lever. It may be dirty or the wire broke off.

Try spraying those switch contacts with some cleaner...the switch is a very simple one and is likely just dirty. Maybe no need to replace it.
