Default C6 ash tray lid not closing

I Have a 2009 and can't get the ash tray lid to shut. Sometimes it does but most of the time it doesn't. Is this something that I can fix and I would appreciate any advice on how to.
Thanks

There was a thread about this fix last week. I copied it into a PDF (attached)
Hope it solves your issue.

Did you try building up the door striker with epoxy, so it would sit in the latch tighter? or did that not work?

Good Luck.

You probably shouldn't have to do it to a new door.
If the spring is in the right place under the latch, then I'm not sure what it could be???

Default Ash tray door...

I had problems with mine as well after I disassemble it to send out to have it hydro carbon deep as the console, looked simple enough but gave me about a good 45 minutes story on my desk on top of a towel before I understood what the design engineer did I could not believe it was so simple just that I had to figure out for myself all over, you just have to put your mind to it.

Same goes for the climate control panel fan speed up and down bottom then again same thing it was rite there took one second to install correctly ones I new.
