Default Did I get a good deal on this 2008 Z06?

I bought this on ebay yesterday. A silver 2008 Z06 with 2LZ, 3LZ, Nav and polished wheels. These are over $78k new.

The price was just too attractive to refuse. What do you guys think?

You ripped them off

Unfortunately, I've been banned from E-bay. I ordered a $15 computer plug a number of years ago and forgot to pay for it. I've been banned since. I don't mind. If I had E-bay access, I might be declaring bankruptcy about now.....

First, it's used. It has 911 miles from the original owner. Second, what the heck is 2LZ/3LZ. It's either or, not both. Third, it's either got a Nav with 1 CD, or Bose Premium with 6 CDs, not both. I would get that straightened out before I sent them a dime.

A used '08 with 911 miles, 3LZ, Nav for $68 sounds good. Of course, there's a note on the car, so you won't get title until after 14 days have passed since you've sent them clear funds. Dunno. It smells fishy.

IT COMES WITH THE 2LZ PREFERRED EQUIPMENT PACKAGE & UPGRADES WHICH INCLUDES FACTORY INSTALLED NAVIGATION SYSTEM, 6 DISK IN-DASH CD PLAYER, BOSE PREMIUM 7 SPEAKER SYSTEM, HEATED SEATS AND MORE.
It has a bank payoff!I'd get all that info first before sending any money, but the guy does have a 99% seller rating,so that says something.I do agree though,it's not a 2LZ/3LZ,it's one or the other.Up there says 2,but reading further on ebay,it say it's 3!!

Hope this is not giving you a jinx - but '08's will, and do, sell for more than this (even with 900 miles).

Reading through the listing there appaear to be some confusion, on their part, describing exactly what is on the Vette.

Ask a GM dealer to give you the Vehicle History (can be done by supplying the VIN) - check out options AND the history (make SURE this is not a 'fixed' Z06).

I do hope this is a great buy for you

This guy is about 30 mins down the road from me and has sold a few cars such as that. He is a middleman though. There is a really rich guy that has just about every other toy you can imagine that buys them, gets bored with them, and then uses this guy to sell them for him.

I was beat out on the last one he had by a guy up in Ohio who tried to sell the car within a month or so of owning it.

Everything seemed legit though.

I was going to bid on that car but when the seller did not reply to two messages I sent regarding the GMAC lien on the title, and then, when it didn't sell the first time he listed, he added the extra item(3LZ) to the discription on top of the incorrect info about the NAV with the 6 disc CD changer, I didn't like what I saw. I hope you don't get screwed.

I'm not a "really rich guy" but I don't finance my cars, I pay cash. If the owner of the car is truly a "really rich guy", why does the car have a GMAC lien. Why didn't this seller give info on the GMAC payoff? What if the owner owes more then what the car sold for on eBay, who pays the difference in order for the buyer to get a clear title to the car?

3LZ's were on constraint until very recently, only a few have been built.

Good luck and let us know if you get the car and the title for that price.

It can't possibly be a 3LZ. You can even see the pics it's not a 3LZ. I don't like sellers that don't know what they are selling, regardless of the "deal".

Otherwise it sounds awesome. Anyway if you decide you don't like it you can easily claim the car was misrepresented.

Does not appear to be a 3LZ from the pictures. I would verify that. That option alone is at least 3 or 4 K.

You should be able to get a new 0 mile car for 72-74K. Not that much difference IMO. I'd Hate for those 1000 miles to be track miles??

No where in the cars description does the seller state that the car has the polished wheels. Looking at the photo's, the car has the base painted wheels. The photo's do show that the car has the NAV but it doesn't have the 6 disc changer as the seller says. Also the car has the 2LZ option, not the 3LZ, based on the photo's in the listing. I don't believe the 3LZ was even available when this car was built.
The invoice(Edmunds) for this car would have been ~$67,612 so you paid ~$265 over invoice for the car. New '08 Z06's can be bought for about $4,500-$5,000 off MSRP(have you checked with any of the forum supporting dealers), which would have been $75795 for this car. So, you saved about $2400-$2900 buying used instead of new. Not a bad deal, but not near what you believed you were getting. Before you pay any money, I would suggest you get the GMAC loan number and talk to GMAC about the payoff. See if you can pay the loan off directly to GMAC and have them send you the title. The seller might be a straight up person, but you are also dealing with the owner(who owes GMAC the money) of the car in addition to the eBay seller. You can't be to careful.

I have 100% Rating and someone compromised my account and listed an item for sale using my well - "everything" I only found out due to the questions I got regarding the item. Just be careful - that's all.

If the pictures are really from that Z it is a 2LZ with memory and heated seats. The Nav is also in the dash picture so it should be a teriffic buy at that price. Just be careful as the others advised and get a GM dealer Vin check for service history, verify it is not a buy back or wrecked car.
