Default 360 Forged Z on the Dyno......numbers are in....

So today we had a little Vette carshow at Breathless Performance.
and here is what I came out with

I had my Z (2008 9k miles) strapped to Breathless Performance dyno today.
I have Kooks headers, X-pipe, Corsa Exhaust, K&N intake, and "home grown tune"
I put down 494 RWHP today (80 degrees) on a Mustang Dyno.. My buddy a CF member with a dead bone stock Z put down on the first pull 430 RWHP, the next 2 was only 420 RWHP...
With my calculations the 494 RWHP equals 580 at the crank...

Are these numbers typical for the mods done to the car? What mods would you recommend to get into the Majical 500+RWHP, before getting into cams and head work?

I want to make more like 550 RWHP(motor only).. next up head work, cams, valve springs etc???? (I will have a 100 SHot of Nitrous put in this week, that doesnt count...)

thanks
jon

I will have videos up real soon....

Ported intake and TB should get u to 500rwhp i would recommend a vette-air airscoop as well.. and EWP will make a difference too if u are really concerned on that number then a nice healthy cam and the juice and oh god... Goodluck..

Ok some FACTS, tested on both my car and a friends car, trash that K&N and get yourself a Vararam, do the ported throttle body and intake manifold.

Theres already guys down here in Miami spraying a 350 shot on stock motor and its held up just fine. If I had a Z I wouldn't spray anything less than a 200 shot. I know a few of you guys go to that gym across the street from signature gardens. Maybe we could meet up one of these days and check out the vette

I was just going to say swap the K & N for a Varaam. If I do another intake it will be a ram air type. The faster your going the better they work. The dyno #'s might not show a big difference but your sitting still. Look at what most of the modded fast listers run.
if you wan't 500 on the dyno tweak the A/F and run more timing, or just find a dynojet.

I love my K&N intake, I think its a great product that puts down 22 RWHP.

I would really like to have the car re-tuned and re-dynoed before I start getting into cams and head porting... Nitrous will be going in real soon, talked to my guys, 150 shot will be just fine.

Oh and just for fun my car is a lease... hahahaha!!!!

I also heard and was told that our Z's breath real well on the intake side but the exhaust side of the heads are not so efficient. Could someone chime in on that... what would a TB port and intake yield as far as power gains?

thanks
jon
