Sold Z06 after fixed heads then this
So a year ago I decided it wasn't worth the gamble on a $10-17,000 engine even after I fixed the heads. I traded the Z06 in on a truck. I was happy with my cammed 1997 LS1 as a stand in.
Then along comes someone offering me a fair price on it about January 2014. Figured why not, I'll be ok without one. So I sold the 1997.
That lasted for about a week before started looking for another car. I ended up with a 2008 C6 LS3 +G6x3 cam which is admittedly less nerve-racking than the LS7. I'm mostly happy with my decision.
Then today, along comes a PM asking if I ever had drivetrain issues on My Z06 VIN number 1GYY....8218 -- sure enough that is my VIN.
Curious, I did an internet search and found lots of dead links to salvage hard with 2007 Z06 Red Z06 -- My VIN. Plus pics:
Now I feel guilty? Lucky i got out when I did? Doesn't look wrecked. Who knows the real story. Engine fire? Jealous ex? Insurance fraud?
Rest in peace my friend:

Looks like bounce from the use of SS valves...
Damn.... looks bad though. Who knows what happened. Doesn't look like an accident though.

Damn. It's a good think you didn't have drive train issues... Lol

May be it was your "head fix"...

Ya never know. That's the part that cant be verified when people refer to 100% success when it comes to addressing this problem. So many reports of modifications being done and then most are never heard from again. Who knows what the fate is of all these cars.
The forums are tiny sample of what is going on out there. This car is a perfect example. Total carnage from who knows what, if it dropped a valve and burned up because of it we obviously wouldn't have known.

I know the feeling. My first Vette was a new 2006 Z51...sold it to get a Z06.
Tried to keep tabs on the car but around 2010 I had a part shop call about a car with a bunch of LG stuff on it...
When I had it.
Then they emailed me pics of it...
Never good seeing a car you cared for so much turn into something like that.

Meh, they're cars...you sold it, got your money out of it, you already bought replacements for it so why dwell on it? Its like you being 50 yrs old and still thinking about your first GF in HS. You had your fun with her, move on.
