[Z06] Cai

Seems like the most popular are the Haltech Super Bee / Vararam Intake. My 1st Z06 I ran the Haltech m107. I recently bought another Z06 and will most likely buy one of the two.

Vararam is used on easily the vast majority of NA LS2-3 cars that run 10's. However, the LS7 cars don't have the same cooling airflow, so many use the Halltech to avoid possible overheating.

I use the stock air intake but have a Vette-Air scoop with a home made diffuser panel to get loads of outside air from just behind the grill(approximately 2" X 19" scoop opening to feed air into the air breather compartment) and in front of the A/C condenser and radiator..
I also have the air dams from an Airaid that are mounted on top of the radiator to help minimize hot air backflow from the engine compartment into the air breather compartment while idling at a stop. As soon as I start moving, ambient air is scooped into the air breather.

I ended up going with the MF108R. They're on sale for ~$450. I didn't want to compromise cooling for the VR duct, and there's plenty of proof that the Halltech intakes can make the power.
I was not sold on the red air bridge until I put it on. Looks great with the FRCs.

I like the stock one myself, only reason I went aftermarket is because my tuner already had multiple tune files to start with using aftermarket. I beleieve the stock one is fine, gains come from the tuning, not the cai. If you bolt a cai on your car, and say you got 25rwhp, and can feel the difference, LOL Aftermarket I like the Calloway best.....but my opinion use what your tuner prefers.

Anytime I can try to save some $400 it's a good day. Stock works great for the ZR1 and it's great for my Heads, Cam and Headers setup. The Donaldson blue filter is a great product with fantastic air filtration and flow tradeoffs. The best part is you won't need any customer service since it already works great
Cutting a few "fresh air" slots in the factory radiator dam will provide you with a couple hour long project and make you feel the reward of seeing your own work come to fruition! Then go get a tune and pretend all those extra ponies came from cutting a slot in the radiator dam!
