I got passed by a C63 that sounded like that a couple months back. It was so loud I thought I was being passed by a fighter jet (in terms of volume). And not a good kind of loud either, like an obnoxious sound that physically hurt my ears. The vette sounds way more liveable day to day, and I feel the sound of the C63 would get old quickly. It also has an awkward burble that I don't particularly like. LS7 for me. Classic burble, loud, but not over the top.

I honestly feel that they BOTH sound good, in each of their own respective ways.
There is a woman running around here in town with a 2010/2011 C/E 63 AMG and it sounds completely bad-***. So, even though I bought and drive a Z06 (which happens to resemble the one in this video), I still give props to Mercedes where I feel credit is rightfully due.

I own a stock C63, and it sounds bad ***. That one in this vid probably has cat and resonator delete and maybe other stuff. It sounds rapsier than stock for sure.
The Z06 sounds bad *** too and in that vid, more race car like. But everyone expects a Corvette to sound like that. When people see a Merc, they expect a subdued soud. The people's surprise when you step on it is priceless. That big fat V8 revving to 7200rpm has a strong sound presence.

Hey guys, I'm the creator of the video and owner of TheStraightPipes YouTube channel. I just found this thread. Great to see everyone being so civil about the discussion, I filmed the video for fun as the cars are nearly polar opposites. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the contrast.
To clear some questions up, it's definitely a z06. However it has a Supervettes widebody kit. I provided the full mod list in the description of the video. So have a look at the video again and click the tiny "down" arrow directly underneath it. I've also posted a lot of photos of the car on my Instagram and Facebook pages. Just search "TheStraightPipes" on either. Also some bonus video content with a little launch and some donuts.
I'd love to film more Corvettes in the future. I already have a nice classic C3 on my channel as well.
