Speculation....Z06? ZR1?...hmmm I say "Mako Shark"!
So I spotted this thread from back in March on here and there very well maybe others but they too seemed to be pretty played down. With all the talk of the next C7 to be the Z06 or ZR1 I say....hey GM keep rolling with it...come out with the 2015 or 2016 Sting Ray Mako Shark! The car seems perfect for the name!!!

GM trademark the name L-88 so that may be the new name

Or just Mako, leave out the shark part.
Gotta say though, the chrome strip doesn't look so bad with the rest of the grille behind it chromed too.
Anywho, I could see the corvette family being stingray and mako. Just two models makes some sense since the stingray with all the performance options is close to the Z06. If you wanted to you could position a single high po version across the upper end of the Z06 at the low end, and have it match the ZR1 if you check all the boxes.
C6 - base, grand sport, z06, 427, zr1
C7 - stingray (base, grand sport, lesser z06), high po (better z06, 427, zr1). Question would be, do you name the high po mako, l88, or zr1
Pricing wise the stingray goes between the base and z06 too depending on the options, so a high po could start just above that in z06 territory and crank all the way up to the six figures of the zr1 depending oh what you ordered. In fact given the stingrays performance and price I don't see how you fit a car between it and the high end without canibalizing sales from one or the other, so again, sticking to two models makes sense.
Would also make the manufacturing more efficient to just have two core cars to deal with.

Needs to be more than just two tone to be a real Mako relative.
This is... just not bold enough to call it a Mako.
