Have not driven a C7 yet, but I doubt I'd be interested in trading down. Even my Z doesn't feel that quick anymore. I also have a 550HP H&C Coupe with 4.11s and Toyo R888s on it. Now THAT is a rocket.

I pick up the new Z51 at the museum in a couple of weeks, but will be keeping the C6 Z06 as well. something special about that 427. I have the space, so go with both. Still have the C4 ZR1 as well.

I'm very interested in the results of this. Maybe turn it into a poll of

Maybe... on the C7 Z06
Correct, the Z06 first appeared as an option on the 63. Besides the C6's, don't forget the C5 Z06's (01-04).

Nope. Waiting to see what the hi-po car is all about- but if they price it over 100k, no way. not worth it- the Z will always be something special and it's looks will never get old.

I've got an 09 Z06 and plan on getting a C7. My tentative plan is to wait for the C7 Z to come out but I may not wait that long. I'm kind of impulsive and impatient but I wont bite the bullet for at least a few more months. I will definitely wait until after the first of the year when the Z should be unveiled and make my decision then. If I were to go the Z route, I would most certainly wait another year for the prices to come down to obtainable (for me) numbers. That said, I absolutely love my C6 Z06 but I wouldn't think twice about selling it and getting the C7. For me, it's not if, it's when!

I have a 2012 GS that I planned on keeping until 2015. But now I'm not so sure. I've been pricing C7s on the Chevy site and I was surprised at how little I'd have to pony up to get into a C7. But I've not seen one yet and, of course, not sat in one. Being 6'4" 265lbs might make it a moot point, if I don't fit. (I barely fit in the C6, with less than 2"s of knee room...)

Bah. RIF. I missed that you were asking about C6Z owners... Sorry.

Just an FYI..

I did this last night, first C7 on the dyno with headers on it. Still haven't tuned it, but I put the dyno over my 2008 Z06 completely stock...

I'm surprised at the torque on the new car over the Z06. Of course the C6Z is still lighter, and still has more top end....and in this case is still 100% stock.

Thats almost unbelievable. How does the smaller LT1 make more torque than the LS7 up to 5000rpm. I understand all the new tech in the LT1 and that aftermarket headers were added.. but its generally accepted that there is no replacement for displacement when it comes to N/A motors. And especially so when talking about torque.

Head flow, direct injection, compression ratio, cam timing, intake runner port length.......

Interesting........So with a hp/tq curve like that it's safe to assume an untuned C7 with headers is going to "feel" stronger then an C6 Z06 up until 5k rpms. I'll take that tradeoff all things considered with getting a overall better car. C7 is going to see some VERY impressive gains for those willing to mod.

Yes. Probably in 2-3 years. If I could sell my z06 for what I would need I would do it tomorrow. The refinement and fun to drive of the c7 easily outshines the extra HP of the c6z IMO. No more hot tunnel, no more rough ride, no more loud exhaust, nicer stereo, nicer seats, nicer dash, etc. All of that appeals to me. Adding power is easy. A c6z, c7, etc are all way too slow for my taste, but that is what the aftermarket is for. Adding HP is a lot easier than adding a new dash/seats/etc.

I don't mean to be that guy, but an LT1 with headers is making 445whp sae? I'm calling shenanigans. What was the baseline numbers?

In fact, what magical dyno is this? Even that Z06 is more then generous as well. Those numbers are, I'll dare to say, very misleading.

So assuming 505hp and 465whp, that's a staggering 8% drive train loss to make 465whp.

So at 8% drivetrain loss, that C7 is making 484hp.

8%? Really???

I sold mine. I never tracked it and I love the automatic Z51. I dont care which one can beat which one. I like new and shiny.

Heck I gave my car away.

Either way, what does it matter? The LT1 would still be making more torque and the LS7 would still have the advantage on the top end.

That's what's impressive about the dyno sheet posted.

Really? Have you seen stock C6Z numbers? I have seen the cars dyno every where from 435 to 471 (that was a record here) but mostly do 445-455 so 463 isn't uncommon....and that was my personal car when I brought it home from the dealer.

The C7 made 414 stock........
