Default Personalized settings.

I am having trouble reprogramming my car’s seat, mirror and steering wheel memorized settings. When I originally programmed my settings everything seemed to work properly. Then I discovered that the key fobs are numbered 1 & 2. I had originally programmed the number 1 button in the car with the number 2 key fob. Now when I take the number one key fob to the car and try and set it to the number 1 car button, it will not accept the change. Is there a way to erase the entire system and start over? Is the key fob chip that recognizes it as number 1 or 2 in the black plastic part or the metal key part? Thanks!

Default memory settings

Yes. Hold buttons 1&2 together until you hear a beep. Erases past memory. I had my salesman show me how to program seats and works very well. He followed the book word for word. Also, do the programing while in the cars "Settings" mode. Found on the home page of your computer screen, then "Vehicle" Good Luck

I haven't found any marks or numbers on the fobs to indicate 1 or 2.

If you have a std shift, I have not found any either! Where I am told to look, with the emergency key removed, both have a line or you could call it a 1. Others have reported the same. I just put a small key chain on one! The fobs for the automatic have a remote start button.

Good pic, that is where mine is and like I see here it is a 1 or a line. Used an eye lop to see clearly! Mine are both the same!! No 2! Again I have a standard shift and our fobs are different in that they have no remote start button.

Had my C7 for a little more than a week, and couldn't get the memory seat to recall my position. THIS POST saved the day. My key fobs ARE numbered 1 & 2 and my wife and I had switched, not knowing there was a number system logic. Switched back and life is wonderful.... the seat recalls to #1 on the door panel.

The # of the key is IN the recess of the pull out key, shown in the red circle above. Thanks Glen e.... you saved the day.

FWIW my fobs both show the number 2. It's not likely that the numbers show here have any relevance.

You will need to mark the one programmed to your settings if not you will never get memory to work.
