Default Got rid of my Stingrays today....

When I saw that first torch c7 rolled out in Detroit the first thing I noticed was that (IMHO) stupid stingray plastered in the middle of the cove. The very idea! And in the holy of holies to boot! I promised myself then and there The first thing I would do if I ever got one was to take those ridiculous things off. Didn't turn out to be the first thing but they came off on day eight (today). I cannot believe what a huge improvement it made on the appearance of the car. Why they ever put it there I will never know.

In New Barneyland the display, sale or possession of one of those will carry a mandatory five years....

After almost fifteen years you'd think I'd have learned how to post pictures, but nooo....I'll take a couple tomorrow and see what I can figure out.

Looks better without the dead fish in my opinion.

Those emblems are a nod to the similar emblems that first appeared on the Stingray Racer of the late 1950's, which had the body lines that would form the basis for the C2 Vette. google it and look at some photos of the originals. I thought they were corny until someone on this forum mentioned the background. Personally I'll leave them on, but to each their own, it does look cleaner without them.

Default Badges removed

Do the emblems just pull off? Do you heat them up a little with a hair dryer to insure no paint damage? Must be easy as no one has posted instructions or photos. Inquiring minds need to know.

Yes.

All the emblems (even the flags) are attached only with the stronger double sided tape. There are no holes, but the flags sit in recessed "pockets" so if you remove the flags the recessed flag shape is in the bumpers.

The Stingrays and the Corvette Script come off easy enough with a little heat, then post-removal clean up to remove any sticky residue..
