C7: New MPH World Record
CF, thank you for your continued support for our grassroots automotive event.
This past weekend some the locals in Houston headed to the drag strip for a private event we hold called Quick 30. A lot of the FI guys on CF come to these. Despite it being a hot Texas day, some people ran personal bests. One of those people were Kevin Kesterson and Mark Heidaker from MK Motorsports. They brought out a new C7 and clicked off a new MPH world record at 145mph. With a new clutch an equally impressive ET should follow. Congratulations!

Great time had this weekend. Kevin over at M2K Motorsports sure built one hell of a C7. Everything done on this car is a total custom setup with a ProCharger running 10lbs of boost along with a shot of nitrous. The car on boost only still trapped 141mph and that is babying it off the line. The car has a lot left in it and as soon as he figures out the clutch situation and we put some decent rubber underneath the car, I think folks are going to be surprised at the ET it puts down.
Thanks,
Mark

The TT viper in question is owned by Joel but originally built by RSI and ran strong the entire day. The event was really just a test and tune with not much care into heads up racing or cutting the best light. No doubt the C7 vette has a lot more in it and will get it back to the track to see about that 9 sec pass once we get the clutch and tire situation worked out. This is really the first chance we had to get the car to the drag strip with the blower and nitrous set up. Stay tuned for more to come...
Thanks,

No doubt the time was off. The 60' was a 2.645 so we know the car has a lot more in it... Just takes time to figure out the launch and a new clutch and tire will help as well...

MK Motorsports C7 Corvette Runs a 145-mph Quarter-Mile
There’s nothing that gets me more excited than hearing about Corvettes setting new performance records. Nothing. Well, aside from having the opportunity to witness it first-hand.
One of the latest we got wind of from Speed Syndicate on the forum, took place in Houston at a drag strip showdown called the Quick 30, frequented by a lot of the guys on Corvette Forum.
Evidently, even the Texas summer heat can’t keep a Corvette down as a number of models on hand ran their personal bests in that blistering sun, according to the forum post. In fact, a C7 owned by Kevin Kesterson and Mark Heidaker from MK Motorsports, pulled off what’s believed to be a new quarter-mile dragstrip record speed for the new Corvette at 145 mph.

Man 147 is hauling the mail. Congrats on your runs as well. We know what it takes to run that kind of number and there is a lot of effort that goes into it. It is the competitive spirit that makes us keep pushing the envelope on these cars. Its nice to see the C7 platform coming along the way it is for the short time its been out!

Melting Slicks
I expect that both of these cars will go faster being that they are 2 generations ahead in technology.
Who will hold the title of the fastest?
