Default Do-It-Yourself-Tint Kits

Has anyone tried any of the DIY Pre-Cut C7 Tint kits? Complete tint kits for around $30... Covers front windows and back window.. If anyone has done it, how was the installation?

I would prefer this method rather then drop it off at a tint shop.. Im just don't like the idea of a stranger walking around my car w/ a razor blade....

Those tint kits use the cheapest tint possible.

A few problems with cheap tint, they will fade. Most are dye based.
They don't shrink well. You will have "fingers" that will be tough to get out if you can even get them out.

If you don't like the idea of someone walking around your car with a razor blade then find a local tint shop that has a plotter that can cut it to fit.

Your $70K car deserves more than a $30 tint job.

I would absolutely never try to tint a cheap car on my own, let alone a $70k+ one. The first thing I'm going to do when I pick my Vette up from the dealer is drive it to the tint shop and have quality ceramic applied.

Cheap self tint= bad idea.

I didn't like the idea of the tint shop either. Used a high quality mobile tint installer. Came to my house and installed the tint in my garage.

I saw a spray on product yesterday, I was shocked. How in the hell do you control the coverage to get an even coat? Right next to the cans was another product by the same company....tint remover!

Ever see those old beaters with purple tint with 100s of bubbles? Tint kit most likely... Most tint shops that have been in business for several years know what they are doing and can't afford the bad publicity that even one bad job would create. I have done all 7 of my last Corvettes and a several Suburbans in the same shop with zero problems. I wouldn't worry, do it right.
