Installed 256GB SD card for PDR, 6,317 minutes of recording time!
So I just got around to put in a 256GB SD card (SDXC Class 10) for the PDR and when I brought up the PDR screen it shows 6,317 minutes of recording time! That's over 105 hours lol.
I saw some posts saying it's limited to 32GB, but in fact if you format it in FAT32 format, any size should work, in my case, a 256GB chip.
This is the SD card I got from amazon:
I then downloaded this software:
http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/ind...at32format.htm
And formatted it to FAT32. I was putting it in the slot in the center console at first and the PDR wouldn't recognize it. I was scratching my head and then found there is another slot in the glove box, and plugged it in there and it worked!
Just thought I'd share

AWESOME. I was just looking for the best one to buy. 105 hours....Damn! That's cross country nearly 4 times!!
I can probably let it run always and purchase a new one every 10k miles. Why delete anything? In a year this thing will be $25 instead of $100
Best,
Gene

Where in the glove box?
Hi:
Where is the slot in the glove box? I have a 2015 and only the slot in the center console. I tried 8 and 128 GB SD cards and they both don't work. Both FAT 32
Help Please.
Thanks

I have a 128gb SD card formatted in fat32 in my car right now. I only have about 7,000 songs on it (34.3gb) but I still have 84.9gb of remaining capacity. At one time I did indeed have it almost full but it was just full of songs that I hadn't listened to in 20 years so I trimmed out a ton of music.
You are correct about 4gb being the limit on individual file sizes, but you're not correct about the rest.

Not true at all. You can absolutely format to higher fat32 capacity, you just cant do it with the Windows tools, you'll need 3rd party applications.

Well alrighty then :L generally a technicians train of thought is to go off the assumption that the user does not have any third party software. I didn't see the link I geuss in the first post.

I am not a computer tech., just a motor head. I would say however, that I have had my 256GB card (reformatted to Fat32) in my Z06 for over a month now and find that it works flawlessly and offers me over 100 hours of record time. I do understand that it needs to be broken up in several intervals but it sure works and offers maximum record time.

It's quite hard to see the slot in the glove box. If you are sitting in the passenger seat with the glove box open it's located in the very top left front corner, just under the door frame. Almost easier to open the door and find it by touch.

I have a 64g usb that is fat32 with 45 gigs of music on it , works fine. He is right though the limitation of 4 gigs per file will limit your video length of any one segment.
Gotta say 105 hrs, that will be some boring home movie

not to reign on your findings but as a computer technician, i find this actually kind of silly when you know how formatting works and fat32. to start off with, fat32 is named that way because it supports a maximum format size (max amount you can store on it) of 32 gigs, making any more space wasted and not used. secondly, fat32 has another limitation of having a maximum file size of 4gb, meaning you can have multiple recordings but only up to 4gb each. it's a nice idea to be able to record for a very long time like as if it was a dash cam but sadly you can't.
Just because you slept at a holiday inn express doesn't qualify you to spout gibberish.
Fat 32 is 32 bit which means max file size is 4 GB.
Max volume size is 2 TB.
If you want to pretend to be an expert, at least use Wikipedia.
