Default Ripped rubber/seal on targa top

I noticed a couple of times when the top was re installed. If not put on correctly (with laser accuracy) a little bit of the rubber seal would protrude on the edge on the drivers side. Well now it has ripped. Is this covered under warranty? It was not intentional but I'm sure this is why it ripped.

I really never deal or read up on the warranty to know what is and is not covered.. Just asking

NastyC7, the same exact thing has happened to me...

It's really a hastle to make sure the top is installed correctly. I never had this problem with my C6.

Unfortunately over the past few months of not making sure the black foam seal was not potruding, it has finally split in two and has ripped.

I too would like to know if this is covered as it would seem this is a defect in design.

Same thing happened to me early on. Fully covered under warranty. No questions asked.

that surprises me. I would have expected it to be denied because of misuse.

Can someone post a pic so others can try and "avoid" this issue?

Happened to me too. I saved the corner piece and glued it back on. Seriously, no problem getting it replaced?

Covered under warranty. Mine tore at the corners early on, like month 2 of ownership. No hassle from the local Chevy dealer at all, they just have to order the part and replace the entire seal. Not just the corner section.

That little piece of rubber was sticking out on the passenger side when I went to take delivery. The service manger had it taken in the back and the roof reset. He did say that the roof was not seated correctly when it was taken off. The car had 6 miles on it and I would assume it was that way from the factory.

I did see a C7 in our parking structure that had the same problem.
I haven't had the top off yet.

Why are you "speculating how it occurred?" Just bring it in and show them what happened!
