Default Key FOB dilemma

Is there a way to disable #2 key fob so that it will not take over when my wife is in the car. I don't like having to reset seats, etc. when this happens.
Could it be disabled on the DIC? This is on my 15 C7 Z51 vert.

Remove the battery and keep it with the FOB.

Or wrap it in a layer or two of aluminum foil.

The C7 is the only car with keyless entry I've had that doesn't know which fob is in the passenger seat vs. the driver's seat.

Right off the top of my head, you have two options if your wife carries a key with her when you are traveling together.

Wrap it in foil, so it won't register, but she can take the foil off if she needs to access the car.

If she rarely, or never, drives the car, set both driver 1 and 2 to the same settings, so that it won't matter which key gets picked up.

This is one area where it does seem that the C7 took a step backward from the C6.

That was a thought, but I really didn't want to, especially on a road trip where we both will be driving.

I will try the foil. Thank you for your help.

Have you tried using the memory buttons described on page 3-4 of the owner's manual?

Buy some credit card RFID covers from ebay or Amazon. Key fob slips right in, easier than using foil.

For some reason if FOB 1 is in our car it is predominate. If 1 is in car the seats always go to that position.

I'm pretty sure it's the first fob the car senses. If I get to the car first, it "sees" fob 1 (mine). If my wife's purse gets there first, it "sees" fob 2 (hers). If she gets in the car before me, the driver's seat tries to break my knees....

I bought an RFID wallet at Target for around $12. A step up from foil.

I have one of these for wife's fob when we travel. Most of the time it is in her suitcase in car. Have had no problems with interference from her fob when we travel on trips.

If something happens to my fob on a vacation at least we have backup in hand.
