Default 3.5 second 0-60 stock 2014 Z51!!!

So on my way home I have a nice stretch of road free of traffic and driveways, every once and awhile I test my 0-60. Most days I get around a 3.9-4.2 second time. Today I hooked up just right and wow 3.5 seconds !
70 degrees outside
Conti DWS all seasons on reproduction z51 rims 33psi
Set in track sport 2
Dumped the clutch at 2700 rpm

That is exactly how GM advertises the car.

Nice job! That's quick enough to keep up with (or flat out beat!) many of the best exotics in the world, and at a fraction of their price tag!!

GM advertises the Z51 at 3.8 seconds 0-60, not 3.5 seconds. But 3.5 seconds is darn quick, especially for a manual.

Very impressive, well done, and with a manual transmission.

So what are the gear/speed metrics for the car - I assume a single shift to 60?

Yep, just 1-2 gets you 60 mph
I found with most of my 4.1+ second runs I would shift into 3rd before 60

I was really surprised since this is my winter set of tires, never thought all seasons would get this type of hookup on a regular weathered asphalt.

Take out the A/C, radio, and passenger seat next time!

You might get better numbers.

Well done!!! I have tried and tried, and can't get better then 4.2 seconds. But it has been under 60 degrees here in Minnesota. I am thinking need some warmer asphalt, or there is no way to hook up. Even on brand new asphalt, if I dump at 2,500 car will hop, spin, and not hook.

Try it going downhill. you can drop a half second without trying hard.

Makes for a good statement for the " automatics are faster" discussion. Hmmmm. All are too close to call. Driver is the deciding factor as always. Nice time.

An automatic with the same tires in the same optimal conditions with all the same variables may have done better than 3.5 for all we know.

Unless there was an automatic to run side by side on that day in those conditions, one 3.5 time doesn't prove anything with respect to auto vs. manual.

Default little disappointing?

if a person paid a premium for the ZR1 to get the same 3.5 number.
